about

Families in Recovery is a group of parents who believe in helping ourselves by helping others. Our families have been deeply affected by chemical dependency and other related mental illnesses in our adult children.

We believe that recovery is a family process, and so we come together to share our experience, strength and hope with each other to solve our common problems and to help other families recover. We try to adopt the best ideas and practices of 12 Step programs and psychology to help ourselves, help our adult children, and help our parents.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to help your family recover from chemical dependency and other related mental illness.

There are no dues or fees for membership in Families in Recovery; we are self supporting through our own contributions.

Families in Recovery is not affiliated with any religion, 12 Step group or program, hospital, recovery organization, psychiatric or psychological clinic, or institution.

Families in Recovery does not wish to engage in any controversy; we neither endorse nor oppose any causes.

Our primary purpose is to help ourselves, our families, and other families to recover from chemical dependency and other related mental illnesses.
